With many thanks to Scottish Borders Council and Think Make Grow for their support of the belly dance classes in the area in 2011/2012. The funded groups ran at Chirnside (with a creche for the young mothers attending), Eyemouth and at Gordon and attracted a wide range of women with varying degrees of dance or fitness expertise. Part of the project's remit included costs for a new sound system and a costuming & props budget. We hope in the future to be able to put on group displays with the wonderful funding that was so timely provided. Sadly for all involved Think Make Grow is winding down it's Berwick based artists database, and we are honoured to be one of the last projects to have been supported by the strengths, ingenuity and know how of Wendy Ward and Lyndsay Flannigan.
It looks likely that the group currently meeting at this hall will take a break until the autumn, once it finishes this term for the Easter holidays. Its often good to lie fallow for a period, & assimilate the work already done. Don t forget to practise some moves & stretches though, or the break will be counter productive. In the meantime Liz is available to take workshops or classes during the school term times. Come the summer holidays & she hopes to be away touring, card reading & performing dance around the country at various events & festivals. Calender for that is still under construction. |
